A Cross - Sectional Study on the Determinants of Attitude towards Reproductive Health (RH) Bill among Medical and Non-Medical Professionals aged 20-45 in Manila 6 6 - - - - - - - - . - . - 0 . - . - 0 .

ABSTRACTS : The Current study is both descriptive and analytical with cross-sectional study design to determine the association of the respondents college degree earned to their attitude, either pro or con, towards Reproductive Health Bill. In addition, it describes other factors that may have affected their decision. Two groups of 250 professionals each representing those whi graduated from medical-related and non-medical related courses and are within 20-45 years old from the City of manila were given survey-type questionnaires for them to complete. In addition to their college degrees,respondents were characterized based on their age , sex, civil status, religion and type of school attended. The characteristics and responses of the study population were encoded using Epi Info. Majority of therepspondents belong to the 20-30 age group, Catholic, single and female. In addition, most of the subjects included in the study are graduates of private schools. Based on theresults of the study, it was shown that sex and type of school attended is not a significantfactor affecting the attitude of medical and non-medical professionals towards RH Bill while marital status and religion are still the major factors influencing attitude towards the proposed bill as reflected by their OR (1.65 for marital status and 2.58 for religion) and p-values (0.03 and 0.027 for marital status and religion, respectively). It is also concluded that there is a strong association between college degree earned and attitude as defined by their stand on Reproductive Health Bill among medical and non-medical professionals aged 20-45 within Manila (OR value of 2.22). Medical professionals are 2.22 more likely to support RH bill as compared to the other group and a p-value of 0.0006 indicates that association is highly significant.
