ABSTRACT: Every day, people face risks especially premature death wherein the family head dies with unfulfilled financial obligations. This leaves the dependents financially unstable , thus the awareness in insurance must achieved. Life insurance is a risk-pooling plan, an economic device through which the risk of premature death is transferred from individual to the group (E. Vaughan; 2008, p.232). This study is entitled Makati Employees' Preferences towards Life Insurance: A Basis for A Strategic Marketing Plan. The researchers: Calinog, Lemuel C.; Flores, Lemuel Condrad M.; Idiesca, JeannMickahellAnjedy C.; Larioque, Julius A.; Legaspi, Czeylanica S.; Reyes, Kennit C.; Santos, Alexis B. together with their Adviser Prof. Bernard R. Letrero came up with this title. The researchers would like to know the following: The personal profile of Makati employees. The awareness of Makati employees in terms of Life Insurance. The different hindrances that affect the Makati employees in availing Life Insurance. The source of awareness of Makati employees about Life Insurance. The budget allocation of Makati employees. And, is there a significant difference among the factors affecting the customer in considering a Life Insurance. The researchers sought to answer the preceding questions with a null hypothesis: There is no significant difference on the preferences of Makati employees in availing Life insurance. The study is a descriptive research and the respondents would be the employees in Accenture, Makati Medical Center, RCG Company, and 24/7 Customer Philippines (Paseo and Salcedo branch) in Makati. A survey questionnaire would be the source of the primary data that is composed of two major parts - Set A (socio - demographic) and Set B (factor that affects the customers choices in Life Insurance). With the gathered data, the researchers concluded that most of the respondents have the capacity to avail life insurance and in a consumer's perception, he takes into consideration the assurance on how reliable a life insurance company is. The least factor that consumers take into consideration is Advertisement. With the computed analysis of variance, the researchers accepted the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference among the preferences of Makati employees in availing Life Insurance. The researchers recommend this study for Businessmen who plan to put a life insurance company in Makati. The researchers suggest that Credibility of the Insurance Company should be taken into consideration first because it is the most factors that a consumer prioritized. For existing life insurance companies, this would be helpful in aiding the company to improve the factors wherein the said companies have a poor rating, and to strategize more on attracting potential market for life insurance.
