ABSTRACT: This study, Identification and Prevalence of Intestinal Parasites Among School Children Ages 4-6 of Punturin Elementary School, Valenzuela City and Langka Day Care Center, Meycauayan Bulacan, aimed to help the young students in accessing if they are infected by intestinal parasites and to inform their parents about this problem. At the community lvel, this study aimed to inform the school about the prevalence of such parasites. Also, the researcher opts to increase the awareness of the people about these neglected parasitic infections that will lessen the percentage of infected schoolchilcren. Collection started in the month of November 2006 and lasted until the early part of January. Three diagnostic. Three diagnostic procedures were done namely, Kato Thick Smear Method and Harada-Mori Culture Method for fresh fecal samples and Formalin-Ether Concentration Technique for preserved fecal samples. The two species of gastro-intestinal parasites identified in this study are Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura. These parasites are the most common parasites that ifect young schoolchildren. Out of the total seventy-two (72) Kindergarten students of Punturin Elementary School only fifty (5) specimens were collected. Out of the total sixty-nine (69) Kindergarten students of Langka Daycare Center only 50 fecal samples were collected. From these, twenty-three (23) samples were found to be infected with parasites.
