ABSTRACT: This study examines the impact at consumer price index, regulation, production, and domestic use of tobacco on consumption level that leads to premature mortality among Filipinos. The study uses national-level data of CPL, production, and domestic use of tobacco products from the Philippine Statistics Authority, while the rate of deaths is based on the Philippine Health Statistics Report from 1990 to 2018 focusing on pneumonia, malignant neoplasm, and heart diseases. Tobacco regulations include the packing, use, sale distribution, and advertisements of tobacco products. Among the fin dings of the study, as all variables are significant in predicting mortality rates, however, domestic use of Tobacco is the only variable able to reduce it. One percent increase in the domestic use of Tobacco products will lead to a decrease of zero-point thirty-nine percent in the mortality rate of Tobacco-related diseases.
