Executive Summary a. Marketing Feasibility The marketing aspect of this paper highlights the strategies to be taken by Oysters to promote and sell cultivated oysters. Specifically, the marketing aspect discusses the selections of the target market to assure market penetration and examine the historical provincial demand and supply of oysters in Alaminos, Pangasinan. These are necessary steps to make supply and demand projections ensuring positive prospects for the business. The proponents chose to establish the business location in Alaminos, Pangasinan, wherein the cultivation site is located specifically in Tambac Bay which is known as a rich fishing ground for fisherfolks from the coastal areas of Alaminos, Pangasinan. Moreover, the Regional Mariculture Technology Demonstration Center (RMATDEC), a government hatchery facility for oysters, is also situated in Alaminos City, Pangasinan. This aspect also discusses the optimal pricing strategy that caters to the target market, a promotion strategy to increase sales and get the business known to the public and capitalize on the brand as a sustainably conscious business selling high-quality oysters. d. Technical Feasibility The technical aspect of this paper provides specific desired producers and assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of these processes by Oysister. The proponents decided to use the longline method of oyster cultivation, which is proven to be relatively more resilient in the presence of heavy rains, big waves, and strong winds. This method is also attributed to its cost-effective and sustainable farming method since it lessens sedimentation, which is detrimental to the environment and ultimately reflected in the quality of oysters produced. This aspects further discusses the postharvest facility located in Tambac Bay, Alaminos, Pangasinan with its plant layout and the necessary machinery and equipment in the cultivation site, caretaker's hut and processing facility. The production capacity of Oysister's farm is 827 kilograms per month. However, this might be reduced since the requirement before harvesting needed 2-3 months of cultivation to reach 6.0- 12.50 cm long oysters as well as available capital, anticipated demand, weather conditions, and predicted mortality of oysters. e. Management Feasibility The presented business will be in the form of partnership. Oysters's management will be composed of seven (7) founding members or partners and employees to manage and monitor the business operation in Alaminos, Pangasinan. Each partner has the same rights in decision-making and assessing the business operation. The production of Oysister's will be administered by the partners and will hire five (5) workers living in the vicinity of the location to supervise the farming areas and to ensure that there will be no danger that can affect the oyster's quality. The management will also fortify its obligations to follow the guidelines and regulations from the government bodies in the location such as the City Government of Alaminos. The administration also aims to collude with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources - Region 1 in their initiative in advancing and promoting the oyster industry in Pangasinan. To validate the feasibility of oyster cultivation, the researchers guarantee that the Oysister's is an ethical and compliant enterprise that aims to support the oyster farmers and its profitability potential contribute to the industry and the Philippine economy. e. Hence, the enterprise would take the opportunity to venture into a growing Oyster Industry with little capital investment where the livelihood of local communities is highly-dependent. In addition, oyster farming has a positive impact on estuarine environments since they are considered indicators species. It disappearance serves as a warning of deteriorating water quality and causes lower prices of catches.
