Abstract This study entitled, Managing the Risk Towards Sustainability of Start Up Business by Entrepreneurship Students in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila was prepared by Bernadette A. Baldevia, Jiezel Ann P. Cardiño, Duphnie P. Moreno, Florida Bien E. Odiver, Princess Anne U. Pascual, Mary Rose B. Picones and Nor-Aylah S. Zacaria, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the subject Business Research. This was prepared under the supervision of Dr. Marivic F. Flores. The study explores how Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) entrepreneurship students manage risks in their startup businesses with a focus towards for a long-time earnings and success. Educational institutions like PLM are essential for assisting its students pursue business objectives. This study contributes to both academic understanding and practical usage in the local entrepreneurial landscape by highlighting how these students deal with the difficulties that come with starting and operating businesses. The researchers followed the descriptive survey research design which utilized the use of survey questionnaires to gather data for the chosen respondents. There was a total of thirty-two survey questionnaires overall, seven questionnaires for the demographics, five questionnaires for the sustainability of their business, six questionnaires for the educational experiences, nine questionnaires for the financial fund and support system, and five questionnaires for the entrepreneurial barriers. The data were analyzed using the frequency, percentage, ranking, and average weighted mean. This study collected data from a total of sixty-three respondents out of a population of one hundred-six. The level of satisfaction of the respondents on sustainability of business had obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.79, which indicated that the student entrepreneurs believe sustainability is essential for keeping their businesses running in the long term. In educational experience it had obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.1, and the level of satisfaction of the respondents on risk capacity factors had obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.54 lastly the level of satisfaction of the respondents on entrepreneurial barriers had obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.92. In summary, by fostering an environment of effective risk management in its students, academic institutions like PLM may have an important influence on the growth of skilled and confident entrepreneurs who are ready to promote creativity, draw in investment, and drive jobs in the economy.
