ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the implications of McDonaldization in Barangay 655, Zone 69 Instramuros, Manila, Specifically, it identified and analysed the manifestations of McDonaldization to food purchase and preparation, work attitude, and other basic needs, how McDonaldizationis manifested to food purchase and preparation, work attitude, and other basic needs and the implications of McDonaldization to the residents of the Barangay. To gather data and information, checklist, survey questionnaire, interview schedule, observation and data analysis of pertinent documents were used. More so, the statistical treatment of data utilized frequency distribution, ranking, and weighted mean. To achieve the purpose of the study random sampling was employed. There were 50 respondents. Most of the respondents who answered the survey were 25-34 years old, female, Catholic, single and generally reached the secondary level of schooling and were skilled workers. The researchers determined that the residents in Barangay 655, Zone 69 Intramuros, Manila have implications of McDonaldization in their food purchase and preparation, their work attitude and supplying their other basic needs. The respondents easily acquired their needs with less effort. They purchase products without complications and do activities passively. Similarly, the respondents preferred quantity rather than quality and they neither wanted nor expected surprises. In their work, most of the time they relied on the use of technology. Evidently, on the implications of McDonaldization in Barangay 655, Zone 69, Intramuros, Manila. The study concentrated on the dimensions of McDonaldization, efficiency, calculability, predictability and control.
