ABSTRACT: This study aimed to analyze how the four national daily broadsheets namely the Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin and Manila Times put salience to the first 100 days of President Benigno Simeon NoynoY III in office. The study examined the physical characteristics, theme, tone and frequency of the news articles published in the each of the newspapers front pages. With the help of resource persons such as editors and writers from the newspapers, the results of the study were validated showing that the newspapers, through their front page coverage, have emphasized the importance of the President's first 100 ays as a subject and source of news.
