ABSTRACT: The IoT based Smart Parking Management System utilizes the use of IoT technology to detect if a parking slot is vacant or occupied using ultrasonic sensors. The system is also capable of reserving a parking slot. The mobile application is responsible for the interaction of the users with the system. It shows that status of a parking slot and features a payment system and a reservation function. The IoT based Smart Parking Management System showed results that the system can display real time parking slot status and reservation of a parking slot. The system is also capable of sounding an alarm through a speaker when an unauthorized vehicle is parked and diverting drivers to other parking lots if the chosen parking lot is full. Overall, the system functions as intended. From the data presented in the paper, it can be concluded that the systems accurate in displaying the real-time status of the parking slot. Reservation requests have been successfully accommodated, alarms sound properly and the diverting feature of tha application works.
