ABSTRACT: The challenging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have significantly impacted the operations of businesses, most of which forced them to close, realizing less profit, laying off some staff, and more aggravating effects. Several studies have reported the other effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses. With the return of face-to-face classes with a possible number of 9,000 students adjusting to the new normal, this study aims to analyze the strategies of micro-scale food businesses inside Intramuros that sustain their operations to ensure that their businesses are profitable in this new normal. The researchers proceed with a quantitative method of research, with a descriptive research design, whereas the variables included are not under the influence or manipulated by the researchers. The researchers employed data-gathering techniques in the form of a survey questionnaire. Consequently, through the descriptive statistics method, this study initially revealed how these micro-scale food businesses coped after the extended lockdown/pandemic, and what businesses strategies they employed in continuing their operations when the restriction was lifted. This study aims to give a critical understanding of the business strategies used micro-scale food businesses inside Intramuros in the new normal to serve as an additional body of knowledge for business owners in other places to adapt.
