ABSTRACT: This study assessed the leadership behavior and decision-making style of administrators in selected public secondary schools in the Division of City Schools, Manila. The study was limited to a total of 160 respondents- 12 principals, 8 administrative offices, and 140 head teachers from 18 secondary schools, from District I to VI in the Division of City Schools, Manila. The descriptive-survey method was used in this study with the questionnaire as the main instrument for gathering data. The method used both quantitative and qualitative descriptions of the leadership behavior and decision-making styles of the respondents. The data gathered were statistically treated to get the frequency, percentage, means, chi-square, degree of freedom and coefficient of contingency to arrive at the significant relationships between variables which were tested at the required probability of .05 significance. From the profile of school administrators, the findings were: out of 160 respondents 81 or 50.62% belonged to 50-59 years age bracket; majority of the respondents were female, 123 or 76.88%; 140 or 87.50% were head teachers; and 81 or 50.62% were Bachelor degree holders with Masteral units. The school administrator-respondents' perception of their leadership behavior indicated that they were strong in both Initiating Structure and Consideration. This means that the school administrators exhibited varying degrees of both Initiating Structure and Consideration at the same time. Thus they created an organization with harmony, intimacy and procedural clarity because they were both people and task-oriented leaders. They perceived their decision-making style more Rational than Creative/ Intuitive. The school administrators employed systematic approach that examined facts and figures in an orderly manner before they arrived on a decision. There was no significant relationship between the respondents' demographic profile variables and their leadership behavior based on Initiating Structure and Consideration. There was no significant relationship between the respondents' demographic profile variables and their decision-making style either Rational or Creative/ Intuitive. On the basis of the aforementioned findings, the null hypothesis asserting that there is no significant relationship between the school administrators' socio-demographic profile variables and each of the following: Initiating Structure, Consideration, Rational, Creative/ Intuitive was accepted.
