ABSTRACT: The effects of modular teaching to students study habits and attitudes in Strategies in Health Education in third year nursing students was studied with an aim of developing guidelines for effective learning. One hundred (100) respondents at Perpetual Help College-Manila participated in the study. The effects of modular teaching were assessed using an adopted and modified Study Habits and Attitudes tool. The study provided information as to what possible effects modular teaching has to students study habits and attitudes. The results indicated that there was low significant relationship between modular teaching and study habits and attitudes in terms of confidence and dependence. However, there was no significant relationship between modular teaching and students attitudes in terms of motivation and persistence. Based on the results of the study. Guidelines for Effective Learning was developed in order to maintain positive habits and attitudes, and improve negative ones.
