ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to know the level of awareness on the causes and prevention of Low Back Pain among PLM students was determined. The study also aimed to know the relationship between the profile of the respondents and their level of awareness on the causes and prevention of Low Back pain. The study also aimed to develop a PT intervention from its result to address Low Back Pain considering the factors involved. The study used descriptive correlational research design in the collection of data to answer the questions raised by the researchers. The study was limited only to PLM students who experiences Low Back Pain. Samples were obtained through non probability purposive sampling by selecting those who experiences Low Back Pain regardless of their age, gender and college. The researchers made a questionnaire form and were subjected for validation by three Low Back Pain experts. Standard deviation, Mean, Weighted Mean and Pearson Correlation coefficient were used as the statistical treatment data collected. The following conclusions were derived from the study: There was a significant relationship (p=<0.05) between the age, gender (female), mode of transportation and knowledge of the respondents as to the level of awareness on the causes and prevention of low back pain. The following recommendations being forwarded based on the findings of the study. To PLM students to be more aware on the cause and prevention of Low Back pain and they would be more serious in dealing with it to prevent further problems in connection with Low Back Pain. To Medical Health Professionals in PLM that they must conduct series of seminars regarding Low Back Pain and it's complications to ensure our respondents that this will benefit them and to show how Low Back Pain will affect one's productivity. As Physical Therapy students to suggest seminars or symposiums in coordination with the universities student council and other campus organization in promoting awareness on the causes and prevention of Low Back Pain among the students, faculty members and campus employees. The researchers recommend that the future researchers must include on their study the sources of information if possible, (i.e from magazine, media, other health profession etc.) that the respondents has regarding Low Back Pain to further assess their knowledge regarding Low Back Pain.
