ABSTRACT: There had been a number of researches available about Diabetes Mellitus that focuses on the disease process, physiological effects, pathophysiological aspects, its prevalence, determinants, and effective forms of care. This study is distinct for its focus is on the level of compliance and treatment regimen of the diabetic club members on a more local approach. Specifically, this research aimed to determine the level of compliance and treatment regimen of diabetic club members at OspitalngMaynila Medical Center. Factors affecting the members treatment regimen compliance were also identified. To gather the needed data, two sets of closed-ended questionnaires was used which are mainly a multiple choice questionnaire and a scaled questionnaire, specifically a likert scale. Frequency distribution table, weighted mean, one-way ANOVA, and t-test were used to compute and analyze the answers of the respondents. The results showed that most of the respondents were female with low economic status. On the other hand it showed that the respondents were compliant in terms of their medication but is least compliant with regards to using an exchange list system that is suited for their condition. Exercise plans were rarely followed and self-care regimens vary with regards to their educational attainment. It was also found that most of the members never record nor check their blood glucose levels. Although different levels of compliance were observed among the variety of criteria established, only few showed significant difference. After data were gathered, analyzed and interpreted, recommendations were made for further improving the diabetic club members compliance to treatment regimen.
