ABSTRACT: As the field of nursing continues to develop, students are expected to absord vast amounts of information. This requires much effort from the students struggling to be competent in the field of nursing. One of the key aspects for the students to comply in such high standard is to enhance their memory capacity. Seeking alternative strategies for enhancing their memory, the researchers identified classical musical therapy as an easy and accessible tool and it has become a popular past time for relaxation and unwinding which only requires passive thinking. A need for information correlating classical music to memory and their influence regarding their individual properties has been identified by the researchers. The study aimed to determine the effects of classical music on memory enhancement. It specifically seeks to answer if there is a significant difference between pretest and post-test results of the control group and experimental group (with classical music). The researchers had selected quasi-experimental design to control as many threats to validity as possible. A purposive or judgmental sampling had been used in this study. This method of sampling perfectly fits in identifying the respondents of the study since the study will be needing respondents that did not have musical intelligence as one of the top three strengths. The researchers had utilized a nonequivalent control group which involves an experimental treatment and two groups of subjects observed before and after treatment. In this design, 30 respondents were selected wherein they were equally subdivided into two groups: control group and experimental group. The researchers had conducted measurement of memory capacity of the participants in the control group prior to intervention. After the measurement, the experimental group had participated in the classical music session while the control group had been subjected to silence. Post intervention, another measurement of memory capacity of the participants had been conducted. The same procedure will be utilized in the succeeding exposures on classical music. The study will adapt tools to test the memory of the subjects. These are the face identification test and digit-span test, it will be used as the pre-test for the control and experimental group. Statistical treatments used were mean, standard deviation, paired T-test and independent T-test. The calculated results for this experiment were consistent with the original hypothesis that classical music improves memory, especially visual-spatial memory. After listening to Mozart's zonata for two pianos (K448) for 10 minutes, normal subjects showed significantly better visual-spatial memory skills than after periods of silence which is illustrated in the face identification test. The mean visual-spatial scores were higher after listening to the music than in the other condition. The interaction between classical music and the memories recalled in the face identification test was significant. However, the result of the digit span test was found to be consistent to the stated null hypothesis. On the other hand, the experimental group was found to have better memory scores than the control group. Overall, the study found out that there was a significant interaction between th
