ABSTRACT: The study aimed to assess the level of disaster preparedness among the students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. Also it determined the significant difference between the profile and the sources of information in terms of common disaster and disaster response of the respondents to their level of preparedness. The study group was composed of 385 students from the 11 undergraduate colleges of PLM. Quota sapling technique was sampling method employed in the study. Also a self-made questionnaire was developed that were validated by three experts. The study have showed that majority of the respondents have chosen school as their main source of information regarding common disasters and disaster response. School posters on the other hand was chosen by majority of the respondents as their main source of information regarding the school's exit plan and lastly, school vicinity was chosen by the majority as their main source of information regarding the school's emergency supply. The study also revealed that there is no significant difference between the level of the respondents disaster preparedness in fire, typhoon and earthquake and them being a victim or not. Furthermore, there is also no significant difference between the respondents level of prepared and whether or not, they have attended, a similar in disaster preparedness, aside from the typhoon category. Moreover, the results from the study revealed that the college students were highly prepared in case of earthquake, fire, and typhoon though results have showed that an interpretation of moderately prepared appeared in the category of immediate action towards acquired injury.
