ABSTRACT: This research study mainly examines the lived experiences of old-aged male homosexuals with HIV/AIDS. Its main focus is the psychosocial aspect of the life of the sqaid group of people-the lesser studied ones. The studsy delved into the participants lives before and after their HIV/AIDS diagnosis and its effect on their lives-holistically, at that. A descriptive phenomenological method was used as a research design in the study. A total of seven male homosexuals with HIV/AIDS aged 50 and above participated in the study. Purposive sampling was used in determining the particpants. Semi-structured interviews, directed by pre-formed guide questions were utilized during the interviews conducted until data saturation was met. The recorded interviews were transcribed and were analyzed based on method triangulation and triangulation of sources. A total of five main themes emerged from the study, namely: (1) Unbounded Life, (2) Life Down in the Dumps, (3) Gleam of Hope, (4) There is more to life than HIV/AIDS, and (5) Positivity. These themes depict the lives of the participants before their HIV/AIDS acquisition, their experiences upon learning about their diagnosis, and how they slowly coped with their condition, leading them to where they are now. A model based on a butterfly's metamorphosis was formed potraying the experiences of the participants.
