ABSTRACT: Every student in school is a thinking, feeling and acting individual, education should consider this important in the total development of the student. Educational institutions, generally, adhere to psychosocial and holistic development as focus of their educational task and objectives. Among their means to achieve such development is the provision of co-curricular activities in their curriculum as an extension of academic theories. The study was focused on respondents' demographic profile and its relationship to respondents' motivation in joining co-curricular activities and the degree of their co-curricular activities involvement. Moreover, the study correlated the relationship between respondents' degree of co-curricular activities involvement to their level of academic performance. RESEARCH DESIGN The descriptive method was employed in this study since the study was concerned with the presentation, analysis and interpretation of facts regarding respondents' demographic profile, motivational factors in joining co-curricular activities and level of academic performance. The data gathered through questionnaires and informal interviews. Respondents' academic performances were obtained from their report card and Secondary reports on Promotions. These were treated using the Chi-Square test of relationship and will be tested at .05 level of significance. FINDINGS Majority of the respondents belong to the age group of 14-15 years and who were mostly female. Most respondents' parents were elementary and high school graduates and engaged in business and other related undertakings as occupation. Majority of the respondents' monthly income ranged from P2,500-P5,499 which is far below poverty line. The degree of involvement of respondents in joining co-curricular activities were interpreted as sometimes. Among the various factors that motivated the respondents in joining co-curricular activities, knowledge acquisition ranked first. The study found out that there was no significant relationship between respondents' demographic profile and the degree of their motivation in joining co-curricular activities but there was significant relationship between the respondents' demographic profile and the degree of their co-curricular activities involvement. However, it was found out that there is no significant relationship between the degree of the respondents' co-curricular activities involvement and their level of academic performance. RECOMMENDATIONS Based on the findings of this study, the researcher recommends that teachers and administrators must properly motivate the students to join and participate actively in schools' co-curricular activities. Co-curricular activities must support, enhance and supplement what is being taught inside the classroom to further enrich the intellectual capacities of the students and parents must be informed and oriented on the benefits that their children could obtain in joining co-curricular activities.
