Opportunities & challenges of artificial intelligence on tourism students : Basis Curriculum enhancement of tourism management program - 2025 - Research Study : (Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management) - Pamantasan ng lungsod ng Maynila, 2025.
Artificial intelligence development is progressing, and its applications stretch across fields like tourism. Because of this, this study sought to assess the opportunities and challenges that Al poses to students in tourism management in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, usage as a tool to enhance their learning experience, and as a benchmark for enhancing the academic curriculum. Al- powered systems personalize learning while equipping advanced tools that prepare students for unpredictable demands in the tourism industry. This study has gathered participants through a voluntary-based survey. The sampling frame for this study would involve utilizing online and face-to- face surveys and social media platforms to obtain a comprehensive list of tourism students from PLM. A random selection of students would be made from this list to ensure representation from PLM. The findings show that Personalized Learning is seen as the most beneficial aspect, indicating that students appreciate Al's ability to tailor learning to their academic needs. There are also risks such as ethical concerns that was seen that respondents agree and are still worried about the threat of data privacy when they use Al for their academic task. Although most respondents came to the conclusion that role of Al is positive, they emphasized that it should be put within a human-centered framework. The study suggests further that if Al is introduced sensitively and responsibly into tourism management programs, then the quality of education may be improved, student concerns addressed, and preparedness for an artificial intelligence-driven future in tourism enhanced. This approach will not only improve the curriculum and quality of education, but also equip tourism management students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an Al-driven world.
