Bambike ecotours : a perception of tourists' on perspective and overall tourist experience / Denielle M. Bantola. - Research Paper : (Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management) - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2022.
ABSTRACT: Bamboo bike ecotour is an eco-friendly bicycle. It offers a bicycle made out of bamboo and abaca fibers while fulfilling its shared mission with the Gawad ng Kalinga (GK) community of ending poverty in the Philippines. It also encourages the local hand-making of bamboo bicycles and gives the GK community a way to make a living by getting hired as bamboo bike builders, or BamBuilders. Bambike Ecotours does more than just rent out bamboo bicycles and offer guided tours. Their goal is to promote and protect cultural heritage by expanding their service to other historical sites in the country. Purpose: This study aims to examine Bambike Ecotours customer experiences. Consumer opinions and Bambike Ecotours purchases will be the major focus. This research topic was chosen to understand and promote ecotourism. Method: The phenomenological approach was undertaken to discover an individual's personal experience of using the Bamboo bike.
Findings: The findings revealed that the characteristics and performance of the Bambike are not much different from other bikes. Just like an ordinary bike, traveling in Bambikes around Intramuros gives convenience to people. Overall, the Bambike's materials and experience riding it made it stand out to our respondents. Recommendation: The researchers have developed the following improvement-focused recommendations through emphasizing the survey process findings and from the participants' feedback. With that, this study can be proposed through Social Media Influence, Bamboo Bike Organization, Students and Future Researchers, the Community, and Other Beneficiaries that will contribute further to the awareness and knowledge on businesses that are akin to Bambike Ecotours.
