ABSTRACT: Filipino workers right now are facing serious problems about the increase of price commodities in order to survive on a daily basis. Their salary or wage that is usually within the minimum or less than the minimum wage is not enough to suffice their needs. This is the common denominator or reason for individuals who shifted to gig economy type of work ride-hailing service, where your own autonomy to choose what time you will work, which is called “flextime”. And how this gig economy helps the ride-hailing industry achieve financial stability. This paper will examine the relationship of two variables through the parameters such as work hours, daily rate, flexibility, and proximity for gig economy, and income consistency, savings, work expenses, and ability to meet daily expenses for financial stability. The paper intends to investigate and tackle the relationship between ride-hailing riders under the gig economy and financial stability. Through the lenses of statistics, the data gathered was subject to testing utilizing a regression analysis tool to determine the correlation of the two variables. The use of regression analysis in research design to examine the relationship between the gig economy and the financial stability of ride-hailing riders in Manila. The results and findings of this study shows that the flexibility, daily rate, and proximity are significantly correlated that leads to financial stability of a ride-hailing riders in Manila. Some of the findings are statistically significant, it means that the ride-hailing as a gig economy job can positively contribute to the worker’s financial well-being. This study emphasizes the need for better policies and assistance that could help ride-hailing riders to cope with economic difficulties. By understanding their struggles, the researchers provide recommendations for policymakers and private institutions to develop more effective solutions to support this evolving labor sector.<br/> |
