Formatted contents note ABSTRACT: The construction industry holds immense potential for growth and development, but the presence of non-value adding activities (NVAAs) hampers project execution, leading to resource wastage and reduced productivity. This study aims to identify and assess vital NVAAs in high-rise building construction. The researchers conducted a comprehensive analysis of 50 studies to categorize NVAAs using the WORMPIT framework, resulting in 39 NVAAs sorted into eight categories. Pareto Analysis was used to identify five vital NVAAs------waiting, processing, rework, overproduction, and transportation----which significantly impact project performance. To gather data, a standardized survey questionnaire was distributed among construction experts managing high-rise projects. Four out of six respondents met the consistency requirements outlined by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The AHP method was employed to evaluate responses and determine the relative importance of criteria and alternatives. Pairwise comparison matrices and consistency ratios were used to assess judgments. The study concluded that network is the most significant NVAA in terms of cost, followed by waiting, processing, overproduction, and transportation. In terms of time, waiting, network, processing, transportation, and overproduction were identified as vital NVAAs. Regarding quality, processing, waiting, rework, overproduction, and transportation were ranked as the most crucial NVAAs. These findings offer valuable insights for the construction industry to address NVAAs, enhance project performance, and improve efficiency in high-rise building construction.
