Formatted contents note ABSTRACT: Sustainable material implementation in residential housing development projects is an essential step towards sustainability, however there are also underlying risks that are present in this type of construction project. The National Capital Region (Metro Manila Area) is the area of study for the assessment of risks involved in the implementation of sustainable materials in residential projects. This study conducted risk identification of frequently occurring risks through meta-analysis of the risk studies in sustainable construction. From the meta-analysis, there were 287 cumulative frequencies, 20 risks were grouped together. Applying the Pareto Analysis, six Critical Risk Factors are identified as the vital few which were used as the criteria for the Analytic Hierarchy Process pairwise survey. The data was assessed using the responses of experts of their risk priority in “time” and quality constraints based on the project management triangle. After evaluating the responses, researchers found the order of priority based on the overall weights are as follows: (1st) Accessibility of sustainable materials – RC5, (2nd) High cost of sustainable materials – RC2, (3rd) Complex procedures and policies for compliance – RC4, (4th) Lack of qualified personnel with expertise – RC3, (5th) Lack of adequate knowledge on green buildings and materials – RC1, and (6th) Insufficient government support – RC6. From the results gathered, the researchers were able to identify which risk should be prioritized and were able to develop a risk mitigation suggestion list from the experts response
