Formatted contents note ABSTRACT: This research evaluates the Road Sign Performance Index (RSPI) and Road Marketing Performance Index (RMPI) correlations with cycling-related accidents in major roads in Quezon City-Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), Commonwealth Avenue, and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) by utilizing mixed methods research. The methodology involves gathering of existing data, identification of road traffic control devices, DPWH consultation, field manual inventory, scoring of traffic devices, DPWH validation, and collection of January 2024 cycling-related accident data. Upon providing homogeneity in the conditions of road signs and road markings, statistical analyses, including Spearman’s Rank Correlation, and Multiple Linear Regression, are employed to evaluate correlations. For the current condition pf road signs, although they meet retroreflectivity standards, deviations from the standardized design prescribed by the DPWH were observed. As for road markings, the majority were found to be comprehend. Additionally, all markings are described retroreflective markings, with none found to be hidden. While the average RSPI and RMPI ratings were generally very good and excellent, no significant correlation with cycling-related accidents was found. The study underscores the need for adherence to standardized designs and suggests further exploration of factors influencing cycling safety.
