ABSTRACT: Libraries play a crucial role in gaining knowledge and exploring culture, offering diverse resources that support learning, literacy, and education. The library at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), like other academic libraries, provides resources like books, computers, and study areas to support students learning. However, with the rapid advancement of technology, libraries must adapt to meet the evolving needs of a tech-savvy student population. At PLM, the library faces challenges such as the difficulty of locating books due to a complex layout, even with existing signage, and the inefficiency of manually counting and managing books. This study aims to improve the overall library experience by developing an integrated system composed of three key features: an Augmented Reality (AR) navigation system with a visual marker scanner, a real-time book counter, and an LED-activated book locator. The AR navigation system eliminates the need for manual book searches by displaying digital paths that guide users to the bookshelf location of the selected book. Despite some inconsistencies in navigation accuracy, the system remains functional. QR codes serve as a starting point that initiates the AR experience when scanned using the visual marker scanner. The LED-Activated Book Locator further enhances user experience by providing accurate visual cues to the book’s location. Although the Book Counter achieved an accuracy rate of 97.35%, it did not fully meet its objective due to inconsistencies in book count data. Based on the results, the researchers recommend expanding the dataset, refining A* algorithm inputs, adding more visual markers in the library, and implementing |
