Undergraduate Thesis (BS Computer Science) Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2005.;ABSTRACT: The paper describes the Fast Marching Cubes Algorithm an enhancement to the Marching Cubes Algorithm for the generation of an estimated iso-value surface in volumetric data in other words a volume visualization technique. Fast Marching Cubes Algorithm will solve some of the problems of the existing Marching Cubes Algorithm. Fast Marching Cubes computes a less detailed representation compared to Marching Cubes. In this study we will tackle a more graphical representation of data sets. Adding options for inputs and considering the type of data to be used. In this paper, the proponent presents an implementation of the Fast Marching Cubes that may satisfy the goal of enhancing the standard algorithm for a better visualization of 3D data sets and also the visualization for still images. Therefore, the proponent of this research would present a look beyond the basic algorithm at ways to improve the quality of the reconstructed data sets. 56
