Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The proponents conducted a study on enhancing an algorithm for nudity detection that was first presented a couple of years ago. The study focused on establishing a more defined range values for skin color as well as replacing the 4-sided bounding polygon with a convex polygon to eliminate excess non-skin pixels inside the bounding region. Different surveys were conducted to know the most comprehensive method and scheme suitable for this application. A new color scheme is proposed to challenge the previous stated one it found out to be better in detecting skin pixels in the image. Although some other color spaces were proposed and one of them is statistically the same with the chosen scheme. The proponents conducted a variety of tests in order to prove the use of convex bounding polygon is far better than the proposed 4-sided bounding polygon that is covering less non-skin pixels within. The result shows that the convex bounding is overwhelmingly better than the 4-sided one. Hence, the enhancement of the algorithm in terms of proposing new scheme and replacing the bounding polygon resulted into a better performance compared with the previous proposed method and scheme.
