Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The research team of this study aimed to identify the level of risks perceived in the Accounting Information System of car dealers within Paco, Manila. Its impact on the financial performance of the companies and the possible preventive means to limit such risk. To achieve this, questionnaires were given to different car dealers residing in Paco, Manila. A total of 25 respondents working as accounting staff, senior accountant, accounting assistant, and assistant supervisor of car dealers, represent the population of this study and answered the survey. The results revealed that 32% has suffered financial loss due to security and integrity risk that threatens their AIS. The statistical results also revealed that accidental destruction of data by employees, sharing of personal passwords between employees, entry of computer viruses in the computer system; and suppression/destruction of data were the most significant risks that threatened the AIS of the car dealers within Paco, Manila. Accordingly, this study recommended to strengthen the security controls over the aforementioned weakened security areas and to enhance the awareness of AIS security and integrity risks among the car dealers within Paco, Manila to achieve better protection to their accounting information system.
