ABSTRACT: The study focused on the collection, preservation, identification and abundance of echinoderms in Barangay Imelda, San Juan, Batangas, Inventory and collection of specimens was conducted for three consecutive days, from December 26, 2006 to December 28, 2006. `Three stations were established prior to the collection. These stations did not have transect lines nor measured distances. Different methods of collection were used. Asteroids were preserved in formalin solution, while the echinoids were just left to dry. Seven species were found, most of which are steroids. Only five have noted importance: Linckia laevigata, Linckia multifora, Protoreaster nodossus, Tripneustes gratilla, and Archaster typicus. Other species found are Brissus latecarinatus.
