Cruz, Manilaidentified and determined the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites found in the stool samples of the children. The study was conducted from the month of November 2004 to January 2005. A total of 84 students were examined using Kato-Katz Technique, Formalin-Ether Concentration Technique and Harada-Mori Culture Technique. Statistical analysis was performed to know the difference of parasitic infection in the two day care centers and the different factors that influence the parasitic infection. The study showed that Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura were the parasites present in the stool samples. Factors that influence the acquisition of the parasites were age, nail-biting habit, source of water and hand washing. It showed that there was no significant difference between the prevalence of parasitic infection in the two day care centers. Other editions:

Cruz, Manilaidentified and determined the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites found in the stool samples of the children. The study was conducted from the month of November 2004 to January 2005.
