Thesis (Undergraduate) Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2005.;BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CHEMISTRY.;ABSTRACT: This study was conducted to establish the sorption kinetics of Nickel and Zinc metal at different concentrations (1ppm, 10ppm, 15ppm and 20ppm) by a blue-green algae Anabaena Variabilis. Nickel and Zinc concentrations of 1ppm, 5ppm, 10ppm, 15ppm and 20ppm were introduced into the Anabaena Variabilis cultures. The BG-11 liquid media was used in the culture and exposed to an improvised light source of 40-watt fluorescent lamp. With specific time lapses, sample was pipeted from the culture and subjected to Atomic-Absorption Spectroscopy. 56
