ABSTRACT : This study, entitled An Assessment of the Undergraduate Programs in Journalism Offered by Manila's Higher Education Institutions in Relation to the Proposed Policies and Standards of the Commission on Higher Education' assesses the current journalism programs of tertiary schools in the City of Manila. Included in this study are the conformity of the programs curricula, qualification of the school administrators and faculty, library resources facilities, and equipment, among others, to the Commission on Higher Education's proposed policies and standards for undergraduate Journalism programs. Schools included in this study are Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) offering an undergraduate program in Journalism. The respondents are the schools journalism department chairmen and library personnel. The descriptive survey method was utilized and the instruments used for the study were questionnaire and documents pertaining to the schools curriculum.
