This empirical study investigates the impact of exports and imports on the foreign exchange rate movement in the Philippines. As the model is derived from the principle of the Balance of trade, the study shall prove or disprove the said theory. The result of the study aims to educate the consumers on the essence of supporting our local businesses and patronizing our products. The data, acquired from secondary sources, was extracted from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Philippines Statistics Office (PSA), spanning five years from 2015 to 2019. The growth rate of the Philippines' total exports and imports is used as an independent variable, while the growth rate of foreign exchange is the dependent variable. Using the OLS estimator. the study finds that both export and import positively impact the exchange rate movement. Keywords: Foreign Exchange, Export, Import, Balance of Trade.
