ABSTRACT: Cash flow management has enabled many business owners to get a better comparison of the costs and revenues of their business through the tracking of every cash transaction-be it incoming or outgoing-thus, as many studies have proved, helping them make sound decisions beneficial for the business. Unfortunately, there are instances where proprietors omit performing cash flow management practices as they deem them irrelevant to the performance of their businesses and only consume unnecessary time. Hence, this study sought to ascertain the impact of cash flow management on the profitability of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) located in the City of Manila. To be precise, the study aimed to evaluate the operating, investing, and financing cash flow management practices and their impact to the firm's profitability, determine whether there was a significant difference in the cash flow management practices that impact the profitability of the business when grouped according to their size and type of operation, and classify practices that are beneficial to business profitability. This study used a descriptive research design to describe the relationship of the independent and dependent variable and used stratified random sampling based on the number of MSEs located in the City of Manila to get the required sample. Data were gathered via a survey questionnaire and were analyzed through mode, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, and the one-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that business owners in the City of Manila agreed to perform cash flow management practices. Yet, statistical result suggested that these cash flow management practices do not provide significant difference to the profitability of MSEs when they are grouped according to their asset size and type of business operation. Furthermore, separating personal and business finances, implementing a collection policy, and looking for ways to engage in cost-effective financing were perceived to be the most beneficial practices to business profitability. The researchers recommend exploring other factors and topics that may affect business profitability and examine other aspects of the business such as internal control, asset management, and employee administration. Keywords: cash flow management, profitability, micro enterprises, small enterprises
