Now, there are 175 meat processors in the country including San Miguel Purefoods Corporation, Pampanga’s Best Incorporated, CDO Foodsphere Inc. and Mekeni Food Corporation. Processed meat usually boom during Christmas Season particularly ham products who were patronized by many Filipinos during this season. Also, Back-to-school Season, usually June to August, parents normally packed lunch for their children before going to school. Philippines created rules and regulations in order to protect the health and safeness of the consumers with regards to processed meat products. These companies are the solution for this dilemma that’s why the competition in the industry is strong. One of the company is Mekeni Food Corporation which offers processed meat products that is ISO 22000 certified and HACCP Food Safety Certified.
