Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The 21st century mathematics classroom looks and operates differently than it did half a century ago. Not only are teachers expected to facilitate activities rather than lecture, they are also expected to utilize technology not only to catch students interest but also to level up students class participation because students nowadays are more attracted and engaged to technology and easily got bored when see the same routine every meeting. The aim of the study was to determine the level of class participation because students nowadays are more attracted and engaged to technology and easily got bored when see the same routine every meeting. The aim of the study was to determine the level of class participation in terms of recitation and board work of Grade 9 students when taught using traditional method and modern technology. The researcher found out modern technology is more effective in improving the students class participation in Mathematics through the use of observation with teacher-scoring rubric, tally sheet, formal interview to teacher and survey to students. The researchers determined the difference between traditional method and modern technology through hands-on activities with the integration of technology such as projector for PowerPoint presentation and videos, and speaker for activities for modern technology and stick to talk and chalk for traditional method. The researchers would recommend the teacher to use different kinds of technology as a tool for teaching in mathematics. It helps in improving the performance of the students because it catches the attention of the student that encourages them to learn and participate in class. Other editions:
