ABSTRACT: The deteriorating mathematics program in the Philippines was the cornerstone of the study. Considering the important role of mathematics in our present world, the research entitled, the study on the Factors Associated with the Performance in Math of Third Year Students hopes to contribute to the over-all picture as to the various factors associated with performance in Mathematics, particularly on the aspect of students interest in the subject. The study aimed to determine the significant relationship between the mathematics performance of the respondents and the selected variables, namely, family income, educational attainment of the parents, and degree of interest towards the subject (Mathematics). The study used descriptive research technique, questionnaire, interview with the students teacher and teachers permanent record to generate data. The research established that the performance (grades) of the students were directly affected by all selected variables and has the greatest significant with the interest towards the mathematics subject.
