Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The objective of this study is to assess the 21st century thinking and working skills in learning Social Studies. The two major skills thinking and working skills are subdivided into subcategories. In ways of thinking it includes critical thinking and creativity, and in ways of working it includes collaboration, communication and computer literacy. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers utilized the stratified random sampling where 252 respondents were grouped into an equally divided number of respondents. Grade 7-10 students from higher, middle and lower section of Cayetano Arellano High School. To further complement the investigation, 10 teachers from Social Studies were surveyed and interviewed. To gather pertinent data and information, a modified questionnaire checklist based on the ideas from books and miscellaneous publications were modified to suit the questionnaire. To augment data from the survey questionnaire, observation of students and interview with key informants were done. The results reveal that teachers frequently employ a variety of learning skills and these are perceived by the students to be Effective. Furthermore, the two major skills, thinking and working skills, manifests a significant High Relationship with each other. Moreover, the study found out that the skills enhance learning in different aspects namely mode of learning, manner of teaching and assessment. Significant findings of this study were used as basis in proposing an Action-Based Learning Plan on Enhanced Learning in Social Studies Employing 21st Century Thinking and Working Skills. This study hopes to help involve in the educative process to focus and assess the set of 21st Century skills that are relevant and necessary in today's time. Other editions:
