ABSTRACT:This study surveyed macrobenthic algae in Taggat Norte, Claveria, Cagayan from October to December 2004. Three stations wereestablished which were 50 meters apart. In each transect line built three quadrats measuring 0.50 x 0.50 meter square were placed in every 30 meters. The species were preserved with cotton soaked in denatured alcohol placed in perforated plastic and the species were pressed with the use of a plant presser. A total of 43 species were collected at Taggat Norte, Claveria, Cagayan from October to November 2004 wherein 16 species were from Chlorophyta, species from Phaeophyta and 22 species from Rhodophyta. There is no significant difference among the three stations during the the time of sampling. In terms of the correlation between the population and physico-chemical parameters, it shows that temperature and pH have a high positive correlation while in terms of Dissolved oxygen it has a moderate positive correlation and salinity gave a result of weak positive correlation.
