Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: This research is a comparative study grown in virgen coconut oil, coconut oil and brand X hair grower. Virgen coconut oil was extracted using the Modified Kitchen Method given by the Philippine Coconut Authority and tested for its properties (specific gravity, acid value and saponification value) based on the Philippine National Standard for Virgin Coconut Oil. Its hair growing potential was compared to coconut oil and brand X minoxidil. Four rabbits were used as samples. Each rabbit was shaved at the back portion lateral to the spine using a hair removing cream. It was then divided into four quadrants. One milliliter of the test substance was applied to each quadrant daily. Statistical analysis using the two-way ANOVA at 0.05 level of significance showed that there are no significant differences among the treatments (F=0.186, Sig.+0.906). Tukey's test ranked which among the treatments gave the highest mean for the growth rate. The results showed that the positive control gave the highest mean (1.53) followed by virgen coconut (1.46), cocnut oil (1.44) and negative control (1.28) respectively. On the other hand two-way ANOVA showed that there is a significant difference among the diameters due to the treatments (F=0.650, Sig.=0.000). Tukey's test ranked which among the treatments gave the highest mean for the diameter. The positive control gave the highest mean (5.10) followed by virgen coconut oil (4.23). On the other hand coconut oil (2.80 and negative control (2.47) does not have a significant difference with each other. Other editions:
