In this study, a user-friendly, efficient and effective automated solid waste sorting bin is designed and developed to automate the waste sorting and monitoring system. The main concept of the system is to promote the proper sorting of waste starting from the households and generate data documentation used by the local government unit to monitor waste collection on a certain area. The microcontroller-based waste sorting bin used capacitive sensor, inductive sensor and moisture sensor to automatically sort dry waste, moist waste, plastic waste and metal waste without manual intervention. ABSTRACT: The design project, Microcontroller-Based Automated Solid Waste Sorting Bin and Monitoring System, is composed of an automated solid waste sorting bin for household users and a website application for local government unit administrators.
