ABSTRACT: Considering the factors that contribute to customer delight plays a great role in the success of a business. It is one of the reasons why customers become fond of a shop that offers goods and services that satisfies their standards or even exceed it. Previous research was focused on how international businesses use customer delight as how they operate their business. However, the data gathered were mostly about bigger firms operating in first-world countries. The researchers see the potential opportunity to discover the functional areas of small Chinese businesses in Binondo, Manila and its effects on customer delight in countries like Philippines. With that, the researchers come up with a study entitled Customer Preference: Its implication to Customer Delight Amongst Small Chinese Noodle Eateries in Binondo, Manila: Basis for an Improved Marketing Plan which will be concerned about how the functional areas of small Chinese noodle eateries gives effect on customer delights of Filipinos specifically in Binondo, Manila. Researchers see this as a relevant issue since the inconsideration of the customer's delight will most likely make a business fail. The researchers are eager to determine the process of how the Chinese eateries adapted to cater the nation's customer delight despite the great differences. Functional areas namely production, marketing, and order fulfillment process have a significant relationship to customer delight. Age and frequency have a significant difference in customer delight, while gender, ethnicity/bloodline, educational attainment, and monthly income/allowance on the other hand do not have a significant difference in customer delight.
