ABSTRACT: This research aimed to assess the status of dental education program that may be utilized in creating a quality assurance framework. A questionnaire based on the Commission on Higher Education Institutional Sustainability Assessment Self-Evaluation Document (ISA-SED) Key Result Areas (KRAs) was designed, pilot-tested and administered to dental administrators, faculty and fourth year clinical students (N=153). The respondents' assessment were analyzed using ANOVA to determine if there was a significant difference (α= 0.05). All the five KRAs were assessed as Met by the respondents, with most elements demonstrating good practice. There is a significant difference between the respondents' assessment of their dental education program based on the five KRAs (α= 0.05). An overall assessment of Met shows that they realize the significance of quality improvement and are able to utilize a self-assessment process for their dental program. The Quality Assurance Framework proposed in this study aims to upgrade and sustain the quality of dental education that would help address the current expansion of higher education and its changing role in the sociocultural and economic aspects of development. Keywords: dental education, quality assurance, dental framework.
