ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the teaching style utilized by the teachers of the College of Nursing of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and the learning motivation of the BSN students in the said university. Specifically, the researchers are eager to determine the perceived teaching styles utilized by the teachers which are necessary to measure the level of the learning motivation of their students. Next, is to analyze if there is an existing difference on the level of motivation of the students when they are grouped according to the teacher's teaching styles. And finally, to establish what specific teaching style provides the effective learning motivation to students. Descriptive survey was utilized as a research design and to come up with the data the researchers need purposive sampling technique was used. The researchers believed that this technique is vital, geared towards the success of this study. Two questionnaires were used by the researchers. First was an adapted tool from Grasha-Riechmann Teaching Styles Inventory (GRTSI) for full time College of Nursing faculty members and secondly was the questionnaire modified form the Employees' motivational tool by John Smith. The statistical treatments applied were frequency distribution, weighted mean, Chi-square, Analysis of Variance and weighted mean. Findings showed that out of 8 full-time faculty members of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Nursing, three (3) teachers utilize the Formal Authority teaching style. On the other hand, two (2) teachers fall under the category of Facilitator. However, there was one (1) teacher in each teaching style remaining category which is expert, personal model, and delegator respectively. In the second question, the findings were (1) Person growth, (2) Teamwork, (3) Competition and Progression, (4) Interest, (5) Activity, (6) Pressure, (7) Achievement, (8) Recognition, (9) Fear of Failure. However in the third, there is a significant relationship between teaching styles and students' level of Motivation. In the fourth problem, assessing if there is significant difference on the level of motivation of students when they are grouped according to the teachers teaching styles the results vary. And lastly, the findings showed that Expert is the most effective teaching style based on the students learning Motivation.
