ABSTRACT. A Day Nurturing center is a place or institutions for healthy infants and toddlers between the age 3 months to 3 years old. It is meant to promote physical, mental and social development by providing supplemental care during the period when mothers are at work. This study seeks to determine the feasibility of putting up the Day Nurturing in Quezon City. Objectives: 1. To describe the profile of prospective clientele of Day Nurturing center (DNC). 2. To describe the market environment for DNC. 3. To identify the technical expertise needed for a DNC. 4. To determine the financial requirements for establishing a DNC. 5. To determine the organizations and management of DNC. The establishment of Day Nurturing Center is geared towards the realization of the following: a) provisions of supplemental care to children whose mother are working 4-8 hours a day and whose age range from 3 months to 3 years in terms of physical, mental and social development b) proper assessments of child's health to prevent disease c) assistance to mothers find a job that will provide her with high income to improve the welfare of both her family d) management of nurses towards entrepreneurship e) creation of more jobs not only for nurses but for psychologist and other medical and allied workers. The descriptive method of research was used in this study. Information were gathered through questionnaires, interviews and reading. The survey population included mothers age 18-45 years old and employed in government and private agencies. A sample of 200 respondents were identified through purposive sampling of the target population. Findings: 1. Profile of the Clientele Working mothers age 24 to 29 years old, married and college graduate with one or two children belonging to age 3 months and 3 years old. 2. Marketing Aspect There is a growing demand for DNC in Quezon City. The survey registered the result that fifty percent (50%) of the working mothers were interested to avail of the services. The DNC will offer physical, mental and social type of activities. Its service fee will be pegged at one hundred pesos (P100.00) per day. In the initial year, a total of thirty (30) infants and toddlers age 3 months to 3 years old are estimated to avail of the service of DNC. This target clientele may be informed about DNC through banners, posters and flyers that can be readily available in the city. 3. Technical Aspect The DNC will be located in Project 6, Quezon City. The proposed DNC will utilize play, games, toys, music, TV and other creative activities to enhance physical, mental and social development of infants and toddlers. The DNC will have one air conditioning system and a host of office equipment and furniture fixtures to support administrative needs and facilitate play and games, and sleeping rooms for each age level. 4. Financial Aspect The project shall have an initial capital outlay of P528,000.00. This will be utilized for pre-operating expenses and working capital requirement. The profitability analysis shows that the project will have a payback period of 2 years and 4 months, a profitability ratio of 43% to 73% from first year to fifth year of operation. It is financially feasible and will generate a profit of P272,000.00 at the end of first year. 5. Organization and Management Aspect The corporate form of business organization headed by qualified nurse with an initial of 8 staff will be adopted. Initially, it will be staffed by eight people: 1 Child Care Nurse Administration; 1 Associate Child care; 3 Child Care Nurses; 1 Psychology Graduate (part-time); 1 Accountant or bookkeeper (part-time) and 1 utility personnel. Conclusions and Recommendation Based on the finding of this study, the following conclusions are drawn: 1. There is a growing demand for DNC's in Quezon City. 2. Quezon City, especially Project 6, is an ideal setting for the DNC due to its geographical location. 3. The project is profitable and financially stable. 4. The project will contribute to the development of healthy and independent young citizens of our nation. 5. In general, the establishment of a DNC in Quezon City is very feasible. In the light of the foregoing findings and conclusions, it is highly recommended that of a DNC in Quezon City be established immediately. In its organization, it is further recommended that: 1. A corporate form of business organization headed by a highly qualified nurse with an initial staff of eight people be adopted. 2. Marketing strategies that will make use of banners, posters and flyers, as well as ocular visits to the site of the DNC should be utilized. 3. The DNC, having air-conditioned rooms and equipped with facilities necessary for a DNC, should be located in Quezon City. 4. The project should be established with an initial funding of more or less half a million pesos (considering the current rate of exchange) to ensure the setting up of the necessary physical facilities, purchase of equipment, and hiring of a competent staff to manage the DNC. 5. It is considered that it will be registered to the SEC upon approval by DSWD for the security of the personnel and the clients.
