ABSTRACT: This study described the lived experiences of Filipino critical care nurses working in the United Arab of Emirates from their transition to acclimatization. The qualitative research design was used in this study that aimed to get a better understanding through firsthand experience, truthful reporting, and quotations of actual conversations. The phenomenological methods of research was utilized given that the goal of the study was to capture and described the meanings of the lived experiences of the Filipino critical care nurses working in the UAE. The significance of this exploratory and descriptive study that employed a phenomenology of practice research approach to answer the question: What are the lived experiences of Filipino critical care nurses in United Arab of Emirates? A purposive sample of ten Filipino critical care nurse emigrated to the UAE from the Philippines within the last five years was recruited for the study. Primary data were the narratives collected during interviews. Data were collected until saturation and redundancy were observed. Interview data were transcribed, coded, and clustered during thematic analysis guided by Colaizzi (1978). Findings were four emergent themes that captured the essences of thirteen clustered: (1) A Shocking Transition, (2) The Struggles of the Journey, (3) Going Beyond the Adversity and (4) Gaining Adaptation to Educate and Support Others. To add rigor to the study, the criteria of credibility (Pilot et al., 2001), soundness (Koch, 1994) and ethical considerations were utilized.
