This study aimed to assess the emotional and psychological impact of MHI exposure by nursing students. The respondents of the study were fourth year students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila - College of Nursing. To assess the emotional impact of MHI exposure of nursing students, the researchers utilized the Emotional Impact Scale. The researchers also the Psychological Impact test to assess the psychological impact of MHI exposure of nursing students. A descriptive Correlational type of research was utilized and a Proportionate Stratified Random was administered in obtaining the samples. The researchers concluded that majority of the respondents were female and as to the ordinal position, most of the respondents were the eldest in the family. In the emotional impact. Managing Relationship was the most affected domain with a Fair Rating while the rest pf the domains got an Excellent rating. The Psychological Impact of MHI exposure affected both domains, which had a Moderate Clinical Range, in total having an average of Mild affectation in MHI exposure on their cognitive processes. There was no significant relationship between Emotional and Psychological Impact of MHI exposure of Nursing Student. There was no significant relationship among emotional and psychological impact of MHI exposure when grouped according to their profile variable. The focus area of the Emotional Impact of MHI exposure was Managing Relationship domain while the focus are for Psychological Impact of MHI exposure was both Intrusion and Avoidance. Based on the findings in this study, in terms of gender, the female respondents had a frequency of 70% while the male respondents had a frequency of 70% while the male respondents had a frequency of 30%. In terms of ordinal position, the respondents with the highest frequency was the eldest which was equivalent to 42%, next was the middle which was comprised of 37% and the least was the youngest with a frequency of 21%. In the emotional aspect pertaining to self-awareness domain, the respondents got a mean score of 15,1581, which shows that they were excellent in the domain. In empathy, a rating of Excellent, which was equivalent to 16,50145 was seen from the study participants. In self-motivation, a gathered mean score of 18,1857, which had a rating of Excellent was again obtained from the subjects. In managing relationships, a mean of 12,2597 showed that the respondents had a Fair rating in the domain. In mood management, a mean score of 13,8772 entailed that subjects had an Excellent rating in that domain. In the psychological aspect, the respondents obtained a mean of 10.82 in the intrusion domain, which was verbally interpreted as Moderate range, In the avoidance domain, the respondents got a value of 10.54, which was Moderate in range. Based from the result of Pearson R and t-test statistics, there was a low positive correlation between emotional and psychological aspect pertained to MHI exposure with 0.50 value of R and a significance of R valued with 0.535 lesser than the tabulated value which was 1.960. It was found out that there was no significant relationship between emotional and psychological impact of exposure in MHI among the respondents. Based on the result of the Chi-square, it was found out that the gender and ordinal position had no significant relationship to the emotional impact of MHI exposure on nursing students in terms of self-awareness, mood management, self-motivation, empathy and managing relationships. The same as with the psychological impact of MHI exposure by nursing students in terms of intrusion and avoidance. The null hypothesis was accepted. Based from the following findings and conclusions drawn, the researchers suggest briefing and debriefing activities that may enhance the focus area to the following beneficiaries: nursing students, nursing academe, clinical instructors, Mental Health Institutions and future researchers.
