ABSTRACT: After the researchers have assessed the students nurses level of emotional intelligence, they identified that there is no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents in terms of gender and religion to their emotional intelligence and therapeutic skills. Also the study identified the relation of having a significant level of emotional intelligence in forming therapeutic skills of student nurses. Specifically, the study answered the profile of the senior nursing students in terms of gender and religion. Moreover, it also determined the level of Emotional intelligence of the senior students in Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Self Management, Relationship Management domains of El. The significant relationship between the profile of the senior students and their level of emotional intelligence in the different domains was also recognized. In addition, the extent at which senior students manifest El in providing therapeutic skills in terms of Acceptance. Attending and Listening, Behavioral and Physical Techniques and Concreteness. Furthermore, the extent of providing adequate therapeutic skills and its relationship to emotional intelligence was also answered. In addition, the null hypothesis raised in the study was at 0.05 level of significance. Descriptive method of research was used to identify the relationship of the respondents emotional intelligence and therapeutic skills, to the profile variable of the students nurses in terms of gender and religion. A three-part questionnaire tool was used in which the first part was consisted at the personal profile such as the respondents name (optional), gender and religion. The second part of the questionnaire constituted questions regarding the four domains of emotional intelligence namely self-awareness, self management, social awareness and relationship management. The third part of the questionnaire was consisted of therapeutic skills of the 4th year PLM nursing students. It was subdivided into four main therapeutic skills. With regards to data computation, statistical methods was utilized namely: percentage, weighted mean, chi square, and T-test. The findings were that majority of the respondents were female and roman catholics. With regards to the domains of emotional intelligence, they all have a high level of El. Moreover, the therapeutic skills of the senior students also showed a high level in terms of providing adequate therapeutic skills. Based on the data, the degree of correlation between emotional intelligence and therapeutic skills was high. Another, there was no significant relationship between the level of emotional intelligence when respondents were categorized to their gender and religion. The resulted high general weighted mean obtained from the samples refers to emotional and social skills and how it affected their reasoning and behavior. Through it four basic principles of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management, the student nurses can make use of their emotional and high therapeutic skills to enhance relationships and to pursue success in rendering effective nursing care. From the study, it is recommended that nursing students, nursing professors, clinical instructors and other health care team members to assess their level of emotional intelligence in providing appropriate therapeutic skills. For the future researchers, it is recommended to make a student development program and let the healthcare providers to utilize it.
