ABSTRACT: The researcher aimed to investigate on the effect of social networking sides on the study habits of the nursing students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. The respondents were measured in terms of demographic profile, activities they do in social networking sites, degree of social networking usage and the level of their study habits. Finding the extent of difference in the activities of the respondents when grouped according to demographic profile as well as the relationship between the degree of social networking usage and the activities that they do in the social networking sites was also objective of this study. Even the significant relationship between the degree of Social Networking usage and the level of the study habits of PLM Nursing students in terms of length and frequency was also included. The study used the descriptive type of research with the self constructed questionnaire as the chief instrument in gathering the data. The process of descriptive research goes beyond mere gathering and tabulating data. The idea behind this type of research was to study frequencies, averages, and other calculations. Although this research was highly accurate, it does not gather the causes behind a situation. The statistical treatment used for the statement of the problem number one was the frequency and percentage distribution, for number two, three and four the weighted mean was used, for number five the researcher used the t test and for number six and seven the researchers utilized the chi-square test. The t-test was used to assess whether the means of two groups were statistically different from each other. The Chi-square test was used to investigate whether distributions of categorical variables differ from one another. Findings showed that at the 0.05 level of significance, the computed t-test in the activities of the respondents when grouped according to their demographic profile led to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Further, computed chi square test between the degree of social networking usage of the respondents and the activities that they do in the social networking sites as well as the relationship between the degree of Social Networking usage and the level of the study habits also led to the rejection of the null hypotheses. These findings therefore led the researchers to the conclusion that there is a significant relationship between the mentioned variables.
