Action note: In: Summary: The purpose of this study is to recognize the level of awareness on causes, effects, and preventions of anterior cruciate ligament among Pamantasan ng Lugsod ng Maynila basketball players. The respondents of the said study are the listed in PLM Intramurals 2010-2011. A permission letter was given to the Dean of College of Physical Education Recreation and Sports and that letter requested for the list of said respondents. The players were given a questionnaire with a pen and were given enough time to answer. The data was interpreted by using a modified 5-Point Likert Scale. The result of the study showed that the PLM basketball players have an average level of awareness on the causes of the ACL injury and high level of awareness on the effects and preventions of the said injury. The researchers recommend to the basketball player to know their limitations in terms of movements in playing basketball, for the basketball instructors, they should try to use some of the exercises stated in the study to avoid the said injury, for the physical therapists, continue giving knowledge about ACL injury in terms of providing seminars and other activities that provide training to strengthen structures around the knee, and for future researchers that will conduct with the same topic, the researchers recommend to use a population who experienced the said injury to have more accurate and more reliable results.
